School Uniform & Equipment List

Our students dress smartly and professionally and wear their uniforms with pride.

Students in Year 7 to 11 should wear:

Item All Students
Blazer Bridge Academy blazer (purple with logo)
Jumper Bridge Academy jumper (grey)
Shirt and tie White shirt with collar and the appropriate tie for their year group.
Shirts must be worn buttoned up and tucked in.
Skirt / Trousers Appropriate length grey skirt or grey trousers 
(standard school uniform type).
Socks Plain grey or black socks (or tights)
Shoes Plain black, smart, flat shoes or ankle boots
Bag An appropriate school bag large enough to accommodate an A4 folder
Coat All students must bring a warm, waterproof coat to school as most break times will be outside. All coats must be removed when entering the Academy building.
Jewellery Maximum two pairs of small stud earrings. One small, flat plain nose stud
Hair Plain scarves in Academy colours (grey, purple, black) can be worn to cover hair if students have long hair
Students should not wear the following items:
  • Calf or knee high boots, trainers, open sandals
  • Excessive make up including false eyelashes
  • Nail varnish or false (acrylic) nails
  • Hoop or dangly earrings, or more than two pairs of stud earrings
  • Other jewellery other than what is allowed on the list above (no rings, bracelets or necklaces)
  • Non-religious hair coverings if students have short hair
  • Caps, bonnets or du-rags
  • Excessively short hair
  • Patterns cut into their hair or dyed unnatural colours such as blue, green or purple

Please note- if a student is not in the correct uniform they may be sent home to change in the morning.

Currently the opening times for Trutex are:
9.30am -5pm Monday to Friday
Saturdays 9.30am -3pm.

PE Kit

When a student has PE that day they should come to school wearing their PE kit.
They must also wear their blazer on that day for when they are at student meetings and in other lessons

Polo Shirt Purple Bridge Academy polo shirt with logo
Jumper Black Bridge Academy jumper, or plain black round neck jumper without logos.
Year 11 may wear a plain black zip up top.
For health and safety reasons, no hooded tops are allowed.
Shorts / track suit trousers Plain black shorts, sports leggings or joggers
(logos should be small if present)
Socks White sports socks
Trainers Any may be worn.  Non-Marking soles for indoor sport.

Equipment

It’s really important that all students are well prepared for their learning by bringing the following equipment each day

Equipment folder containing:

  • Planner
  • Reading book
  • Scientific calculator
  • Pencil case (blue/black pens, green pen, ruler, pencil, pencil sharpener, eraser, whiteboard marker)
  • Exercise books for each lesson that day 
  • Core Sheets booklet
  • Jotter
  • Class reader
  • Student ID card 

Please note- if a student fails to bring a piece of their equipment or an exercise book for a subject, they will receive a 30-minute detention on that day.
